Toilet paper roll crafts are the best aren’t they? Recycled toilet paper tubes can be used for so many things, and today I’m sharing how to make the easiest toilet paper roll wind chimes from recycled toilet paper tubes.
Sometimes the best kid crafts are the ones that don’t cost anything. My daughter loves to create something almost every day. I LOVE that she loves to create, but it can get costly when she’s pulling out tons of craft supplies daily.

If you’ve been around our site for long you know we’re no stranger to creating new things with tp tubes. I’ve created a rainstick from a paper towel tube, a confetti popper from a toilet paper roll, easy bracelet from a toilet paper tube, and now I’m sharing how to create a toilet paper roll wind chime!
The possibilities are endless for this craft. That being said, I’m going to keep it as simple as I can, just know that you can embellish this so many ways. I even had the thought about adding small bells to the ends of the toilet paper tubes to create sound!

Let your kids get creative with this step and let them decorate the toilet paper tubes however they want!
The paper plate will act as the top of the wind chime that connects the string to the toilet paper tubes.
Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the toilet paper tubes. You can do this before or after you cut the tubes in a spiral.
You can see the seams on the toilet paper tubes. Cut along the seam to create a spiral.
This is what the toilet paper rolls will look like once they’ve been cut along the seams. Make sure to stretch them out.
Cut a circle out of the center of the paper plate that you decorated.
Punch two holes out of the circle and pull a long piece of string through the holes.
The colored part of the circle will face down toward the paper towel tubes.
Cut three more holes for three more pieces of string that the toilet paper tubes will be attached to.
Cut three more pieces of string in varying lengths. Three toilet paper tubes will be attached to the end of these pieces of string.
After you’ve attached the top of the string to the circle (paper plate), tie a knot with the other end of the string to the toilet paper rolls.
Ta dah! What do you think? Like I said earlier, you can decorate this however you want. To keep it simple I used primary colored paint and colored string.
If I could do one thing differently, I would have found a way to color the inside of the tp tubes too.
