How to make homemade air fryer pizza rolls
First prepare the inside of the air fryer by placing parchment paper in the basket (don’t place it on the bottom). Spray the parchment paper with cooking spray.
Roll the Pillsbury pizza dough flat on to a large cutting board.
Divide the dough by cutting 4 long rows. Cut the dough once again down the middle perpendicular to the other rows.
Using a spoon apply the tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes evenly on the dough.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly.
Now sprinkle parmesan cheese evenly.
Add 2-3 pepperoni’s per pizza roll.
Starting at one side, roll the dough being careful not to let any ingredients fall out.
Carefully place each roll inside the air fryer on top of the parchment paper.
Cook on the air fry setting at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 minutes. At the six minute mark, use tongs to flip each pizza roll and continue to cook for 4 more minutes.
Let the pizza rolls cool for at least 2 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
Even though they might not look the prettiest on the outside, kids love how tasty they are on the inside.
Why use the air fryer for pizza rolls?
The air fryer not only cooks faster than the conventional oven, but it also does a great job making the entire outside of the roll crispy without hot spots or burned areas.
Can you reheat frozen pizza rolls in the air fryer?
You can definitely reheat frozen pizza rolls in the air fryer. Most frozen pizza rolls will have instructions on how to cook them in the air fryer.
Do I need to line the air fryer with parchment paper?
I lined the basket with parchment paper so none of the ingredients fell through it. That being said, you don’t necessarily have to use parchment paper if you think the rolls will stay in tact. As a matter of fact, if you don’t use parchment paper you might not have to flip the rolls halfway through cooking as the air flow should circulate evenly without it.
