Why choose Frozen Cauliflower Pizza vs. Regular Crust pizza?
Frozen cauliflower crust pizza is a healthier alternative to traditional pizza that is made with a crust made from cauliflower. It is a great option for people who are looking to reduce their carbohydrate (low carb diet) or follow a gluten-free diet. Frozen cauliflower pizza is also a convenient option for people who don’t have the time or resources to make their own pizza from scratch but still want simple fresh ingredients.
One of the benefits of frozen cauliflower pizza is that it is lower in calories and carbohydrates compared to traditional pizza. It is important to note that some brands may contain added sugars or other ingredients that may not be as healthy.
Frozen cauliflower pizza is easy to prepare and can be cooked in the oven and most of them have the same cooking instructions. Some brands even say their product can be cooked in the microwave, although I wouldn’t recommend it.
The nutritional value of a cauliflower pizza depends on the brand and the toppings used, but most cauliflower crusts are lower in calories and carbohydrates than traditional pizza crusts.
Cauliflower crusts are usually made with a combination of cauliflower, cheese, egg whites, and almond flour. This combination results in a crust that is lower in carbohydrates and higher in protein than traditional pizza crusts. For example, a 100-gram serving of cauliflower crust contains approximately 14 grams of carbohydrates and 7 grams of protein, while the same serving of traditional pizza crust contains approximately 30 grams of carbohydrates and 7 grams of protein.
Frozen cauliflower pizza is also a good source of fiber, which is essential for digestive health. A 100-gram serving of cauliflower pizza contains approximately 3 grams of fiber, while the same serving of traditional pizza contains less than 1 gram of fiber. Cauliflower pizzas are healthier options to regular pizzas.
Taste and Texture
Frozen cauliflower pizza is a great option for those who want to enjoy pizza without the guilt of consuming too many calories. The taste and texture of the pizza are important factors to consider when choosing a frozen cauliflower pizza. I’ll be sharing 5 side by side comparisons.
The crust of the frozen cauliflower pizza is a crucial element of the pizza. The crust should be crispy and have a good texture. The crust should also have a good flavor with high-quality ingredients that complements the toppings. A good frozen cauliflower pizza should have a crust that is not too thin or too thick. It should be just the right thickness to hold the toppings without becoming soggy.
What are the ingredients in most Cauliflower Pizza Crust?
The ingredients in most cauliflower pizza crusts typically include cauliflower, cheese (such as mozzarella, parmesan or romano cheese), eggs, and seasonings such as salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Some recipes may also include almond flour or other binders to help hold the crust together.
Price and Value
When it comes to frozen cauliflower pizzas, price and value can vary greatly depending on the brand and quality of the product. Generally, cauliflower whole pizzas tend to be more expensive than a traditional whole pizza option due to the higher cost of cauliflower as a base ingredient.
There are some affordable options available in the market, such as Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Pizza Crust or Caulipower’s Margherita Pizza. Both of these options are priced around $6-7 per pizza, which is comparable to a regular frozen pizza.
On the other hand, premium brands like Outer Aisle Gourmet and Real Good Foods offer cauliflower pizzas with a higher price point, ranging from $10-12 per pizza. These pizzas may be more expensive, but they often use higher-quality ingredients and have unique flavor combinations which make them a good option.
By the way, I am guilty of baking pizza’s on a tin foil lined baking pan (they are supposed to sit directly in the oven). Just be aware that if you do use tin foil, reduce the baking time.

Let’s get back to the review of Cauliflower Pizza crust brands below;
Comparison with Brands
When looking to compare brands, I’m mainly comparing the cauliflower crust against traditional crust and looking for the most kid friendly (for picky eaters) frozen pizza. If you are looking for a side by side comparison with nutrition facts, this might not be the post for you. In this post, you will find the best frozen cauliflower pizzas that you can feed picky eaters! Also all of these pizzas can be found in your local grocery stores or big box stores.
I’m testing the pizzas personally and using my kids as little taste testers as well.
When compared to other brands of frozen cauliflower pizza, Caulipower stands out in terms of taste and texture. While some other brands may have a grainy or mushy texture, this brand has a crispy crust with a satisfying crunch.
One downside of this brand when compared to others is the price. It is slightly more expensive than some other brands, but the quality and taste make it worth the extra cost.
We tried the Margherita pizza and it did not disappoint.
How did my kids like it? I have two very picky eaters and they both gobbled up this pizza like it was Papa John’s. They didn’t know the crust was anything but regular dough.
Honestly I was shocked at how much it really looks like the front of the box. More than that, BOTH my kids ate it and actually liked it!
How does this crust compare to the other brands? In comparison with other brands, it was good but a few other pizza’s tasted better in my opinion. I would still buy this pizza again for sure.
Rating: From a 0-10, I give this pizza a 9 with the taste being an 8 and overall a 9 for affordability.
Great Value Cauliflower Pizza is the cheapest option for cauliflower crust frozen pizzas. That being said, the quality is still decently good.
It has more tomatoes and less cheese than the Caulipower pizza, but as far as taste goes, it’s decently appetizing.
Below is what it looks like right out of the oven.
How did my kids like it? My daughter ate one slice and said it tasted sort of funny. My son also said it tasted a little “off.”
As far as my adult taste buds, I think it tasted fine but not as good as the Caulipower pizza.
How does this crust compare to the other brands? Of all the brands I tested, this one is the least appetizing. If you are on a strict budget and looking for a decently healthy but affordable pizza, I would choose this one. If you can spend a few dollars more I would go with another brand.
For the price, I might buy it again. As far as the taste, for adults it’s ok if you are used to eating products that are a little more bland like gluten free food. For picky little eaters, you might want to choose another brand.
My son was right, there is something about this pizza that tasted a little “off.” For this reason, I will probably not buy this brand again.
Rating: From a 0-10, I give this pizza a 7 with the taste being an 6 and overall a 7 for affordability.
Let’s talk about Milton’s Cauliflower pizza shall we?
Milton’s is the most expensive of all the pizzas, and I can tell you why; the taste. Also it’s known for its use of organic ingredients and lack of preservatives. This cauliflower pizza tastes just like a regular thin crust pepperoni pizza. As a matter of fact, I can say it might even taste better than a regular old frozen thin pizza.
Below is what it looks like right out of the box. The directions say to cook it 13-15 minutes.
Even though I only cooked it 13 minutes it did burn a bit just FYI. When I buy it again I will set my timer on 10 or 11 minutes.
How does this crust compare to the other brands? In comparison to the other brands, this pizza was at the top as far as taste. Even though the crust was thin, it tasted more like regular bread than any of the others. It was the thickest of the thin crust as well.
How did my kids like it? Even with it being a tad on the burned side, they gobbled it up and didn’t flinch. After they finished eating I told them it was cauliflower crust and they were amazed because they said it tasted “normal.”
That being said, it is the highest price of all 4 pizzas, which is why I’m giving it a 9 rating rather than a 10. But after all, you get what you pay for right?
All that to say, I don’t mind paying a little more for a pizza crust that we will all enjoy, even the kids.
Rating: From a 0-10, I give this pizza a 9 with the taste being an 10 and overall a 9 due to the higher price point.
I was only able to find this particular brand of cauliflower pizza in a single portion size box. For the size, it is a little higher priced if you consider most regular sized cauliflower pizzas feed about 2-3 people and range from $7-$10.
Right out of the box I noticed the crust is a darker color than the other brands. Looks more like wheat crust that white crust. Also, they definitely skimped on the pepperoni in comparison to the box image, LOL.
How did it taste? I really enjoyed it. I could tell the crust didn’t taste like normal bread, but I still found it very appetizing.
How does this crust compare to the other brands? The crust did taste a little different than the other brands but it was still equally as good.
How did my kids like it? Both of my kids said the crust tasted “weird.” My daughter still ate her small portion but my son did not (he’s the pickier eater anyway).
I would have liked to see more pepperoni on top, especially since the box led me to believe the top would have more than 3 of them.
That being said, I would definitely buy this single size pizza again. It makes a nice high protein lunch for me during the week. It’s quick and easy to pop in the oven and still very healthy.
As far as buying a frozen pizza for my kids, I wouldn’t suggest this brand. I say this only due to the fact that the crust does taste different than most other pizzas which will deter a lot of kids taste buds.
Rating: From a 0-10, I give this pizza a 8 with the taste being an 8 and overall a 8 for price.
California Pizza Kitchen Cauliflower pizza is readily available at most grocery and big box stores and I was excited to try it. Although it is higher priced than the other products, it’s also the largest and it says it feeds 3 people.
At my local Walmart I was only able to find the pepperoni, mushroom and sausage frozen pizza. That’s ok because I’m mainly testing the crust, not the toppings.
My first impression is that it comes with a decent amount of toppings in comparison to the other brands.
The real question is; how did it taste?
In comparison to the other brands, it was very delicious. I wouldn’t have known the crust was cauliflower if you didn’t tell me.
How did the kids like it? They loved it! They also didn’t know that it was Cauliflower crust. Although they were starting to catch on that I was testing a “different type of pizza” they didn’t even ask until they were done trying a slice.
How does this crust compare to the other brands? I gave this brand a 9.5 rating because it truly does taste like regular pizza crust. That being said, it was a little too thin for my taste. That’s the only reason I didn’t give it a 10.
Rating: From a 0-10, I give this pizza a 8 with the taste being an 9.5 and overall a 8 for the higher price tag.

Frozen cauliflower pizza is a healthier alternative to traditional pizza crusts. It is made with cauliflower as the main ingredient, which is low in calories and high in fiber. This makes it an excellent choice for those who are looking to lose weight or maintain a healthy diet.
Cauliflower is also rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, and potassium. These nutrients are essential for maintaining good health and can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
Drawbacks and Criticisms
While Frozen Cauliflower Pizza has many benefits, it also has some drawbacks and criticisms that must be considered.
One of the main criticisms of Frozen Cauliflower Pizza is that it can be quite expensive compared to traditional pizza options. While some brands are more affordable, many are priced higher due to the cost of using cauliflower as a substitute for flour. This can make it difficult for those on a budget to enjoy this type of pizza regularly.
Another drawback is that the texture of the crust can be different from traditional pizza crust. While some people enjoy the unique texture, others find it to be too grainy or lacking in crispiness. This can be a turnoff for those who are used to a certain type of pizza crust.
The best-frozen Cauliflower pizza?
If I had to choose between these five brands of Cauliflower pizza crust, I would choose Milton’s Cauliflower Pizza due to the taste. I honestly would have never known the crust was made from cauliflower unless someone told me. Also, the kids gobbled it up without asking any questions.
For those who are looking for a low-carb, gluten-free, and healthy pizza option, these brands are a great choice. While some brands may be more flavorful than others, overall, all of these are a decently tasty and satisfying meal option.
It is important to note that the texture of cauliflower crust may not be as crispy as traditional pizza crust, but it is a small trade-off for a healthier option.
For all the caregivers of picky little eaters, I hope this chart might help you find a suitable yet healthier alternative to regular old pizza.
