Shine On: Easy Homemade Glossy Slime Recipe

Here’s a simple recipe for making glossy slime at home! Glossy slime is known for its shiny, smooth, and stretchy texture. Here’s how you can make it:

Ingredients:

  • School glue (PVA glue, clear glue is the best option)
  • Water
  • Baking soda (If needed)
  • Borax Solution (a little contact solution with boric acid also works)
  • Baby oil (optional, for gloss and stretch)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Pour Glue:
    • Pour about 1/2 cup of clear school glue into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add Water:
    • Add 1/4 cup of water to the glue and mix well. This helps make the slime stretchier and glossier. Mix slowly to reduce air bubbles.
  3. Add Baby Oil: Add a few drops of baby oil for extra gloss and stretch (optional).
  4. Add Food Coloring:
    • Add a few drops of food coloring if you want colored slime. You can add this now or after the borax solution. Mix well.
  5. Make the Activator solution:
    • In a separate bowl, Add 1 tsp of Borax to 2 cups of hot water. Mix well until the borax dissolves.
  6. Add the Activator solution to the slime slowly:
    • Add 1 tablespoon of the activator solution to the slime and stir. Don’t rush this step. The activator works slowly and if you pour too much too quick, the slime will break easily and not be stretchy!
  7. Let the Slime sit and watch the gloss come to life!
  8. Store:
    • Store your glossy slime in an airtight container to keep it fresh and shiny!

Tips for Extra Gloss:

  • Let your slime sit in an airtight container for a few hours. It often becomes even glossier!
  • Add a little more lotion or baby oil if you want extra shine, but don’t overdo it or the slime may become too runny.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and mix thoroughly if the solution becomes too sticky.
  • Add sparkles or glitter to make it stand out!
