Creating a kids artwork candle is a fun and memorable way to celebrate Mother’s Day and showcase your child’s creativity. Creating these candles doesn’t have to be limited to a holiday, they can be made anytime of year! This is a super simple project that the whole family can do including younger kids and older kids too.

This isn’t the first time we’ve made a keepsake or gift craft. A few years ago we made a DIY photo ornament that is the perfect Christmas gift.
Let’s start by gathering materials:
- tissue paper
- wax paper
- candles
- scissors
- art supplies
- stencils (optional)
- blow dryer or heat gun

Making the kids artwork candles
First, cut a piece of tissue paper small than the area of the candle. Have your child draw or paint on the piece of tissue paper, ensuring it’s the right size to fit around the candle.

Once the artwork is complete, place the tissue paper around the candle and then place a larger piece of wax paper on top of it. Using a heat gun or a blow dryer, carefully heat up the candle so that the artwork will adhere to it. Be sure to keep the heat source at a safe distance to avoid burning the paper. Also pay special attention to making sure the edges are heated and bonded well to the candle.

This technique is a great way to display your child’s creativity. There are different ways to customize your candle, such as adding scents or using colored tissue paper, making this a versatile project that can be enjoyed year-round. This Mother’s Day, surprise mom with a heartfelt gift that truly reflects her child’s artistic spirit!

These artwork candles are a simple and great gift for any season!
