Materials for Moon Dough
This is the best way to make this awesome homemade play dough. Here are the materials:
- 1/2 cup conditioner
- 1 cup of corn starch
Make sure to grab a large bowl to mix it and that’s it! You probably already have these supplies at home too. Also feel free to use food coloring to make different colors of dough.
I think this is my favorite slime/ dough recipe to date! This recipe is so simple yet it’s not too messy. The problem I have with other slime recipes is that I find little pieces of sticky residue all over the house- tell me you can relate. The other problem with some slime recipes is that you have to get the mixing process just right or it doesn’t turn out. This recipe is so easy, just pour and mix; it’s basically foolproof. Because of this, it’s a great recipe for young children as well as kids of all ages too.
I also love the consistency. Some people call it the best “cloud dough recipe” or “play dough recipe” and after you’ve made it you will know why.
How to make Moon Dough with only two ingredients
I’m not going to write detailed “how to” instructions because there isn’t anything detailed about this. You just mix the two ingredients together and have fun! I do have a few tips though.
Tips to get the right moon dough consistency
I would start by pouring the conditioner in the bowl first then add the corn starch A LITTLE BIT AT A TIME. I made the mistake of pouring the whole cup of corn starch at once over the conditioner and it didn’t mix well. I got ancy and added more conditioner and I ended up with a gooey mess.
Start by adding 1/4 cup corn starch to the conditioner and mixing thoroughly before adding another 1/4 cup. Continue mixing until you’ve added all the corn starch and the consistency is similar to play dough.
Once I started to get the right consistency, I felt like it was best to work in smaller sections kneading the dough until I got it just how I wanted it. I also added a little red food coloring to a small section just to see how it would look.
There you have it; awesome cloud dough with just two ingredients.
