After you the purchase of your plans is complete, you must decide what materials you would need to buy. You will have to buy all the wood needed for completing the project. Be certain to have your tools ready and in order for what is to follow. Your plans can help you with this.

Once you have all your lumber and tools, you have to chop your wood to size. Having all the wood cut and prepared will shorten the assembly time a great deal.

You first lay the framework for the floor out and nail it together. Most people today use nail guns to do this job. Once the framework for the floor is nailed together, make sure this framework is square. At this point, you need to put the boards down for the floor. It is common to use plywood sheets that have been cut to fit. Secure all nails into the floorboards.

The next step is to lay out the supports for the site, and to create the framework for each of the four sides. Leaving the opening for the door of course. Place the plywood sheets in place so they can become the walls and nail them in. Now place all outer and inner trim work onto the foundation as is outlined in the blueprint. At this stage depending on your style of shed, your plans may differ.

Once the walls are complete, you will need to place the framework and rafters for the roof. Nail them in place while consulting your plans. Enclose your shed with plywood sheets for the roof. Complete any needed trimming for the wood at this point.

Attach the doors using the appropriate hardware. For them to operate correctly, you must ensure that they fit properly in the space you provided for them. There is nothing worse than doors that do not fit right.

Sand your shed and choose a color to paint it. You will need to buy paint that is meant for the outdoors, so it will be able to handle the weather. Adding shingles to the shed’s roof may also be desirable, if it is of your own personal inclination. Naturally, you will need to learn how to do your own shingles before attempting it yourself.
