Science And Art Come Together With Homemade Modeling Clay

Playing with modeling clay is often one of the favorite art projects in our house. A kid’s imagination can run wild and you often end up with a menagerie of critters and creatures scattered all over the table. When my older child lost interest in creating new shapes, we discovered that the science of the modeling clay held a bit more mystery. Mixing up a batch of homemade modeling clay added a whole new dimension to playing with clay. Now my oldest child “cooks” the clay and my younger ones create critters to their hearts content. This is a great project for any child that likes to get in there and learn what makes things work.
