A Habit Of Saving On Money Through Grocery Coupons Is A Good Thing
Tuesday, March 30, 2010 13:43I am Dawn and I am addicted to couponing. (How are you, Dawn?) Discount Coupons
Maybe that is how it would sound, as if I joined a 12-step recovery program fighting coupon addiction although it does not really exist. Why not? Because saving money on my family’s grocery bills is a great thing! It is definitely not a bad addiction because it leaves us with enough money left over that we are, slowly but surely, paying down some credit card debts that have plagued us for several years. I am grateful to have SaveGroceryCoupons.com and have this fabulous feeling watching those balances get lower and lower.
Save Grocery Coupons is a web site that does the research for me, so all I have to do is visit the site and see the special offers, discounts, and printable coupons that they have found. Then I am armed to prepare my grocery list and know that I will save money.
It is incredibly easy to be a coupon pro as long as I take a few minutes to keep my coupons organized after cutting them and filing them away. I spend less than an hour each week working on my coupon habit. Logging in to SaveGroceryCoupons.com, printing the coupons, cutting them out, then filing them in my little cute coupon organizer take a little bit of time. Then I glance at my list and see what I can plan for our meals that week so that I can use the coupons. I also take a look at the weekly sales ads from the supermarkets where I live, and then I am ready to shop.
I would consistently save around $75 to $100 a week using the coupons now. Not bad when you consider it takes me less than an hour to stay organized. With a savings of $75 to $100 out from an one hour’s worth of coupon organizing is like money in the bank since I do not earn $75 to $100 per hour in my job.
Sit down and plan out meals for the week ahead. Looking at the weekly ad circulars at the supermarkets in your area and using your coupons can save you even more money. When something is on special and you have a coupon, you have saved even more money!
Knowing the cycle of what your local stores follow as far as when the prices are the lowest is another wise move to save money. While the prices of a lot of foods will fluctuate most weeks, you can easily keep track to determine when your most frequently purchased items will be on sale. Just take time to watch the ads then note down the frequency they are on sale and how much they are. You will then notice an emerging pattern that will tell you how many weeks it usually takes for those items to fall to their lowest prices again, which is the time you will stock up.
